This Indenture made this Seventeeth day of April in the Year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty three Between William Maiden of Little Harbour in the County of Pictou and Jane Maiden his wife of the one part and Donald M'Donald of Little Harbour in the County aforesaid Yeoman of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Willliam Maiden and Jane Maiden his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Forty pounds of lawful money of the Province of Nova Scotia to them in hand paid by the Donald McDonlad at or before the execution of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have and each of them Hath granted bargained sold aliened remised released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents Do and each of them Doth grant bargain sell alien nrmese release enfeoff and confirm unto the said Donald McDonald his heirs and assigns all that lot piece or parcel of Land situate and being in Little Harbour in the County aforesaid and is abutted and bounded as follows viz: Beginning at a Pine stump on the shore of Little Harbour, thence Northwardly the courses of the shore untill it comes to the Eastern or Southeastern boundary line of lands in the possession of Andrew La--, thence Northwesterly along the last mentioned line till it comes to a marsh, thence South Forty two degrees East Eighteen chains to a Yellow Birch Tree. thence South Forty eight
degrees west thirty nine chains thirty links to the place of beginning Containing Sixty two acres and a half more or less with all and singular the houses Barns Buildings and improvments thereon being and alos the privileges and appurtenances thereto appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and also all the estate right title interest claim property and demand whatsoever both at Law and Equity of them the said William Maiden and all the Dower of her the said Jane Maiden his wife in to or upon the said lot piece or parcel of Land and premises above granted or any part thereof To Have and To Hold the said lot piece or parcel of land and all and Singular other the premises hereby granted and conveyed or mentioned or intended so to be with their and every of their appurtenances unto him the said Donald M'Donald his heirs and assigns forever, and the said William Maiden doth hereby for himself his heirs executors and administrators covenant promise and agree to and with tthe said Donald McDonald his heirs executors administrators and assigns in manner following, that is so say that at the time of executing these presents he the said William Maiden hath good right full power and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner and form as the same is herein and hereby granted and conveyed or mentioned or intended so to be, and also that he the said William Maiden and his heirs the said lot piece or parcel of Land and premises with the appurtenances above granted to the said Donald M'Donald his heirs and assigns
against the lawful claims and demands of all and every person and persons whomsoever will warrant maintain and for ever defend by these presents In witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto their hands and seals subscribed and set the day and year first above written

Received on the day of the date of the foregoing Indenture from the therein named Donald McDonald Forty pounds being the consideration money in full therein mentioned to be paid by him to me.

On the seventeeth day of April in the Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three Personally appreared before me the subscriber One of Her Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Pictou Mrs. Jane Maiden a party to the foregoing Deed and wife of William Maiden who is also a party thereto, who being by me examined separately and and apart from her said husband acknowledged that the same was by her executed for the purposes therein set forth and contained freely and voluntarily and without any force or complusion from her said husband.
