Certified Copy of Will for Regr of Deeds

I, John Douglas of Stellarton in the County of Pictou, Gentleman, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made.

1st. I hereby constitute my beloved son John Carey and my beloved daughter Florence Nightingale executors of this my said last Will and directing my said executors after paying all my just debts and funeral expenses to pay the legacies hereinafter given, out of my estate.

2nd. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Anne Carey Douglas all the real estate owned by me and the entire household furniture, and wearing apparel for use during her lifetime and at her decease said real and personal estate to my beloved daughters Florence Nightingale, Minnie Ida, and Ruth Hannah Douglas, share and share alike. In the event of disagreement or dissatisfaction in the division the executors decision shall be final.

3rd. I give and devise to my executors the balance of my personal property to be disposed of as follows:- One-third to my beloved wife Anne Carey Douglas, the balance or two-thirds to be divided share and share alike between my sons and daughters as shall be living at my demise.

4th. I give and devise to my beloved son John Carey Douglas my gold watch.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set the day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand nine hundred and one.

Signed, Published and Declared by the said John Douglas as and for his last Will and testament in the presence of us, both present at the same time, who at the request of said John Douglas and in his presence and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
