Estate of Donald Douglas, late of Marshville, Joiner, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
This is the Last Will and Testament of Donald Douglas of Marshville in the County of Pictou, Joiner. I give devise and bequeath unto my son Jacob Douglas his Heirs and Assigns for ever all my estate and effects both real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever, and of what nature and kind soever upon the express condition
However these bequests are made upon the express condition that he my said son Jacob Douglas shall pay all lawful debts against me at the time of my decease, And shall also pay unto my daughter Christy Ann Douglas the sum of fifty dollars at such time as she will marry, and shall also pay unto my daughter Mary Ellen Douglas the sum of twenty Dollars at such time as she will marry, and in the mean time so long as they my said daughters or either of them remain single or unmarried, they or either of them must be allowed a home on the premises at any tie or either of them nay desire, and shall also pay unto my son James Douglas the sum of fifty dollars- and shall also at all times after my decease maintain and support my wife Martha Douglas with suitable house room food clothing medical aid and all necessaries of life during her natural life.
And shall also maintain and support my youngest son John D. Douglas until he shall arrive at proper age to learn a trade and then he shall be furnished with clothing while learning the same, and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint John Douglas of River John in the County of Pictou Joiner, and my said wife Martha Douglas joint executor and executrix of this my last Will and testament.
In witness I have hereto my hand and Seal subscribed and set this seventeenth day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighty five.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Donald Douglas late of Marshville in the County of Pictou, Joiner, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
