This Indenture made this Seventh Day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Two Between Willliam Rogers of River John in the County of Pictou, Farmer, and Elizabeth his wife of the one part, and George Grant of River John aforesaid in the County of Pictou aforesaid, Lawyer, of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Rogers and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred Pounds of Lawful money of Nova Scotia to them in hand Paid by the said George Grant at or before the sealing and delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have and each of them Hath Granted, Bargained, Sold, Aliened, Enfeoffed, Released, Conveyed, and Confirmed, and by these Presents Do and each of them Doth Grant, Bargain, Sell, Alien, Enfeoff, Release, Convey, and Confirm unto the said George Grant his Heirs and Assigns All that certain Lof of Land situate lying and being on the west side of the River John in the County of Pictou aforesaid, abutted, bounded and described as follows Vizt.  Beginning on the West Bank of the said River at an internal angle of a Tract of Land known by the name of the College Land being also the South Eastern angle of a Lot of Land granted by Government to a certain Robert Lyon, now Deceased, (of which Lot this conveyance is a part,) and running thence West along the said College Land Eighty Chains - thence North on the said College Land Thirteen Chains to the South West angle of a Lot of Land belonging to Donald & Duncan Cameron, thence East on Cameron's Land Ninety-five Chains or to the said West Bank of the said River and thence South westerly the several courses of the same, up stream, to the place of Beginning containing One Hundred Acres more or less together with all and singular the Houses, Buildings, woods, ways, waters, water-courses, Improvements, Hereditaments, Priviliges and Appurtenances there to belonging or in anywise appurtaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, yearly and other Rents, Issues and profits thereof; and also all the Estate, right, Title, use, trust, Interest, property, claim and Demand whatsoever both at Law and in Equity of him the said William Rogers and all the Dower or Thirds or present or future right or Title to Dower or Thirds of her the said Elizabeth his wife in, to out of,

or upon the said Lot of Land and Premises above granted or any part thereof To Have and To Hold the said Lot of Land and all and singluar other the Premises hereby Granted and conveyed or mentioned or intended so to be, with their and every of their appurtenances unto him the said George Grant his Heirs and Assigns to his and their only proper and absolute use, benefit and behoof Forever And the said William Rogers for himself his Heirs, Executors and Administrators Doth in and by these Presents Grant, Covenant, Promise and agree to and with the said George Grant, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns in manner and form following that is to say that at the time of Executing these Presents he the said William Rogers hath in himself good right, full power and Lawful authority to Grant, Sell, and convey the said Lor of Land and Premises with the appurtenances to the said George Grant, his Heirs and Assigns in manner and form aforesaid according to the true intent and meaning of these Presents, and also that the Lot of Land and Premises hereby granted and conveyed intended so to be and very part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances shall and Lawfully may from time to time and at all times hereafter remain continue and be to and for the use of the said George Grant his Heirs and Assigns without and Lawful Lot, Suit, trouble, molestation or interruption whatever of, firm or by any Person or Persons whomsoever Lawfully or equitably claimming or to claim the said Premises hereby granted and conveyed or intended so to be or any part or parcel thereof or any Estate or interest therein; And further that the said William Rogers, his Heirs, Executors and Administrators the said Lot of Land and Premises hereby granted and conveyed or intended so to be and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances to the said George Grant and his Heirs and assigns against the Lawful claims and Demands of all and every Person and Persons whomsoever Will warrant, maintain and forever defend by the Presents.  In Witness whereof the said William Rogers and Elizabeth his wife have hereunto separately their names subscribed and seals affixed the Day and year first above written.

Received on the Day of the DAte of the foregoing Indenture from the therein named George Grant the sum of One Hundred Pounds of Lawful money of Nova Scotia being in full consideration therein mentioned to be paid by him to me

Be It Remembered that on this Day of     in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty       , Personally appeared before me, the Subscriber, one of her Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Pictou Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers, a party to the foregoing Indenture and wife of William Rogers also a party thereto, who being by me examined separate and apart from her said Husband, acknowledged that the said Indenture --- her Executed for the purposes therein mentioned and that freely and voluntarily without force or compulsion on the part of her said Husband

Personally appeared before me the subscriber one of His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Pictou Kenneth McLean Esq of River John who being duly sworn ---- was personally present and --- Wiliam Rogers of River John in the --- signed seal the foregoing deed and ---
