I do certify that the within Instrument was duly Registered at 3 o'clock P.M. of the above day in Liber 28 Folio 742 on the oath of William Fraser a subscribing witness thereto pursuant to law

This Indenture made this twenty third day of April in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty four, between George Ross of the Middle River of Pictou in the County of Pictou, of the one part, and Alexander David Ross of said Middle River of Pictou in the same County, of the other part, Witnesseth that the said George Ross for and in consideration of the sum of Five Pounds, Nova Scotia currency to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof hereby acknowledged, hath granted bargained, sold, released, aliened, and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, release, alien, and confirm, unto the said Alexander David Ross his Heirs and Assigns, all that Lot of Land, with the Appurtenances, situate, lying, and being at West Side Middle River bounded and described as follows, that is to say Beginning at West Side of said River at a stake and stones thence running North Seventy Degrees west, Eighty chains to the rear line of the Grant Thence Northerly along said line nine chains & thirty seven links & a half. Thence South Seventy Degrees East, Eighty chains to the west side of said Middle River, Thence southerly the different courses of said River to Place of beginning containing sixty acres more or less.  Bounded on south side by lands in possession of John Crocket and on the North side by lands belonging to the said George Ross.

To have and to hold the said Lot of Land with the Appurtenances, to the said Alexander David Ross his Heirs and Assigns, to his and their sole use forever.  In Witness whereof the parties have hereunto their Hands and Seals subscribed and set the day and year first aforesaid.
