Description Deed Donald Douglass to William Douglass

This indenture made this nineteenth day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty Nine Between Donald Douglass of Hardward Hill in the County of Pictou Yeoman of the one part, and William Douglass of Pictou aforesaid Blacksmith of the other part, witnesseth, that for an in consideration of the sum of forty five pounds of lawful money of Nova Scotia to him in hand paid by the said William Douglass at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, he the said Donald Douglas hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, and confirm unto him the said William Douglass his Heirs and assigns, all that lot piece or parcel of land situate lying and being at the west and of the town of Pictou and bounded an described as follows. Beginning on the south side of Spring  Street at the North West corner of a garden lot formerly Robert McKay is now in possession of Alexander R. Ross Esquire thence southerly along the westside of the said Garden lot ninety six feet to the lot formerly belonging to Donald Baillie thence Westerly along the North line of the last named lot fifty feet thence westerly parallel with Haliburton Street ninety six feet and said Spring Street and thence Eastwardly along said Spring Street fifty Feet to the place of beginning together with all and singular the houses, outhouses, buildings, ways, watercourses, easements, privileges, appendages, and appurtenances, to the said Tract or Parcel of Land Belonging, or in any wise appertaining, with the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues, and profits, thereof, and all the estate, right, title, interest, claim, and demand whatsoever which the said Donald Douglass now hath or may have, in or to the same TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract, Piece, and Parcel of Land above described together with all and singular the appurtenances unto him the said William Douglass his heirs and assigns, and to his only use, benefit and behoof forever. And the said Donald Douglass for himself his heirs, executors, and administrators doth hereby covenant, promise and agree to and with the said William Douglass his heirs and assigns in manner and form following: That is to say- that he the said Donald Douglass now hath in himself good right, lawful authority, and absolute power, to grant, alien and convey the said Tract or parcel of Land above described with all and singular the appurtenances, in manner and form as before granted and conveyed; that he the said William Douglass and his heirs and assigns, shall and may at all times hereafter, peaceably and quietly, have, hold, occupy, possess and enjoy the Tract of Land, with the appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof without any manner of let, trouble, eviction, hindrance, or molestation whatsoever, of or from the said Donald Douglass or any person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof. And also that the said Donald Douglass and his Heirs the said Lot of land and premises hereby granted and conveyed unto the said William Douglass his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of all and every person and every persons whomsoever, will warrant and forever defend by these presents-.

In witness whereof, the parties to these presents have hereunto their hands and seals subscribed and affixed, the day and year first herein before written.
