This indenture made this twenty seventh day of October In the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven Between Robert Gass of Pictou in the County of Pictou Carpeater and Isabella his wife of the one part and Peter Donaldson of Halifax in this County of Halifax Merchant of the other part.
Witenesseth that the said Robert Gass and Isabella his wife to and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds of lawful money of Nova Scotia to them in hand well and truly paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have granted bargained, sold, remised, released, affixed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain, sell, remise release, enfeoff and confirm unto the said Peter Donaldson his heirs and assigns forever all that certain lot piece or parcel of land situated lying and being on the north side of the Harbour of Pictou abutted bounded and described as follows that is to say on the South by water street measuring on said street forty feet on the west by a lot on the possession of the William Hatcher on the North by Isaac Street and measuring thence forty feet and on the east by a lot formerly in the possession of one morning being the lot purchased by the said Robert Gass from the said Peter Donaldson by deed bearing date the mentioned day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty seven that all and singular the ways, waters watercourses, buildings, improvements, privileges and appurtenances with said lot of land and premises belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents issues and profits thereof together with al the estate right, interest, claim, property, and demands of them the said Robert Gass and Isabella his wife or any or either of them in it or upon the said premises or any part thereof. To have and to hold the said lot of land and all and singular other the premise hereby granted or mentioned or intended to be and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Peter Donald for his heirs and assigns to his and their own proper use and benefit and behoof forever provided always nevertheless and it is the interest and meaning of these presents and of the parties hereto that of the said Robert Gass his heir executors administrators or assigns shall well and truly pay or caused to be paid unto the said Peter Donaldson his executors administrators assigns, the full sum of forty pounds of lawful money as aforesaid in seven year from the day of the date hereof with the interest to grow on the same at or after the ____ of six pounds by the hundred by the year agreeably to the conditions of a certain land or obligation made by the said Robert Gass to the said Peter Donaldson duly accused and bearing even date herewith these presents and ever matter and thing herein contained determined and behold void and the said Robert Gass for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant promise and agree to and with the said Peter Donaldson his executors administration and assigns in manner and form following that is to say that he the said Robert Gass his heirs, executors, or administrators shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid with the said Peter Donaldson his executors and administrators or assigns the principal and intrusts money herein mentioned at the timed and in manner aforesaid and also that the said Peter Donaldson his heir and assigns shall and ,ay from time to time and at all time hereafter after any breach shall happen to be made with condition of the said obligations peas ably and quietly outer unto land hold occupy and enjoy all the said described lot of land and premises with the appurtenances and every past and parcel thereof without the lot suitable hindrances molestations evictions or disturbances of the said Robert Gass his heirs executors or administrators or of any other person lawfully claiming or claiming the said lot of land and premises or any part or parcel thereof or any estate or therein.
In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto their hands and seals subscribed and set the day and year first above written.

Received on the day of the day of the forgoing deed of trusties fourth therein named Peter Donaldson fifty pounds being the consideration money in the said deed mentioned.
On this twenty seventh day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty seven between me the subscriber and of her majesty’s justices of the peace for the county of Pictou personally came and appeared Mrs. Isabella Gass wife of the said Robert Gass whose name is subscribed to the foregoing deed of indenture who being by me examined separate and apart form her said husband acknowledged that the freely and voluntarily and without any compulsion from her said husband sign seal and executor the foregoing deed of Indenture for the purpose therein mentioned.
