Description Deed William Cameron to John Cameron

This indenture made the first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five, between William Cameron of the West River of Pictou County of Halifax and Province of Nova Scotia, yeoman and Jannet Cameron his wife of the one Part, and John Cameron of the West River of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, Yeoman if the other part, witnesseth, that the said William Cameron and Jannet his wife or and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds Nova Scotia currency to them in hand well and truly paid by the said John Cameron at or before the time of sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, aliened enfeoffed, released and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, and sell alien, enfeoff, release and confirm unto the said John Cameron his heirs and assigns all that certain lot or tract of land situate lying and being on the West River of Pictou abutted and bounded as follows.

Beginning at the bank of the River at a Tree marked as Joseph Cameron’s boundary line thence running south, forty five degrees East on said line forty eight chains to lands owned by the heirs of John McGill, thence East on said John McGill’s line ten chains to Robert Cameron’s boundary line hereafter to be ascertained thence north forty five degrees forty eight chains on the said Robert Cameron’s line until it comes to the River, thence the course and courses of the River up streams to the place of beginning, containing in the fifty acres more or less, reference for a more particular descriptions to a grant by government and plan thereunto annexed to William Cameron and others bearing date the fourth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight together with all the buildings, ways, waters, water courses, easements, tenements, hendaments and appurtenances  thereunto belonging on in any ways appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof and also all the estate, right, title interest, claim, property and demand of him the said William Cameron into or out of the same.

I have and hold, the aforesaid premises with the appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof, to him the said John Cameron’s, his heirs and assigns to and for his and their proper use benefit and behoof, forever according to the true interest and meaning of these presents and the said William Cameron his heirs Executors or administrators the foresaid premises and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances to the said John Cameron his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of all and every person and persons whatsoever shall and will by these presents warrant and forever defend. In witness whereof the parties to these presents have set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year within mentioned.

Witnesses present Evan Cameron and Joseph Cameron

Received on the day and year within written from the within named John Cameron the sum of fifty pounds Nova Scotia currency being the consideration money within mentioned.

Personally appeared before me one of his majesty’s justices of the peace for the county of Halifax Jannet Cameron wife of the within named William Cameron and being by me examined and acknowledged that she voluntarily and of her own free will and accord, not by any compulsion whatsoever signed, sealed and delivered the foregoing deed for the purposes therein written, thereby relinquishing all right if dower or thirds that she might at any time hereafter have to the within described Premises , all which I hereby certify all whom it may concern.
