Description Sarah Ives to John MacDonald

To all whom these presents may come I Sarah Francis Ives of Pictou in the County of Pictou widow send greeting:

Whereas by indenture bearing date the twenty eighth day of February A.D. 1881 and recorded in the registry of deeds at Pictou in Book 78 at page 134 John McDonald of Pictou in the County of Pictou blacksmith and Christy his wife conveyed by way of mortgage unto me the said Sarah Francis Ives all that certain lot of land and premises situated on the south side of water street the said Town of Pictou and in the said indenture of mortgage more fully described and whereas I have agreed to convey and release unto the said John McDonald his heirs and assigns the lot of land and land hereafter described being a piece or parcel of land conveyed to me in and by the said indenture of mortgage, for the sum of forty dollars, being part of the principal money due to me under and by virtue of said mortgage, now know that in consideration of the premises and of the said sum of forty dollars to me in hand paid by the said John McDonald at hand before me the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged I the said Sarah Francis Ives have released remised and conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do release remise convey and confirm unto the said John McDonald his heirs and assigns all that piece or parcel of land situate near the west end of the town of Pictou on the south side of water street and bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the southeast corner of the lot belonging to the said John McDonald at the boundary between the same and land or land covered to it water belonging to Annie Fitch wife of James B. Fitch and running thence north along said boundary line thereon district thirty three feet from the centre line of the Pictou Town Branch of the Intercolonial Railway, measured at right angles to said centre line, thence running westward parallel with said centre line and distant thirty three feet at right angles there until it comes to the eastern side of the building on the said lot used as a force, thence southerly along the east side of said building to the southeast corner thereof, thence westward along the south side of the said building to the southeast corner thereof, to the south west corner thereof at the boundary line between said lot of John McDonald and lands of Russel Johnstone, thence southerly along said last mentioned boundary line crossing said centre line at station 27 + 97 to the south west corner fo said John McDonald’s lot thence eastwardly along the south side of said lot to the place of beginning containing one thousand three hundred and seventy six square feet, being the land taken from the said John McDonald for the consideration of the said Pictou Town Branch Railway To have and to hold the same with the appurtenances and every part thereof unto the sadi John McDonald his heirs and assigns to his and their sole use benefit and behoof forever free from the said mortgage and from all lieu and cumbrances sealed thereby. In witnesses whereof I the said Sarah Francis Ives have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this eighth day of November A.D. 1886.
