This Indenture made the seventeeth day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand eigth hundred and thirty seven Between Roderick Macleod of Maclennan's Brook in the County of Pictou and Province fo Nova Scotia yeoman of the one part and Donald MacPherson in the County and Province aforesaid yeoman of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Ninety pounds current money of Nova Scotia in hand paid by the said Donald MacPherson to the said Roderick Macleod, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, he the said Roderick Macleod hath granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and By these Presents Doth grant bargain sell Alien Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said Donald MacPherson his heirs and assigns for ever all that certain tract of land situated lying and being butted and bounded as follows viz. Fronting on the rear of lands owned by a certain Alexander Fraser Schoolmaster, bounded on the east by lands owned by a certain Donald Cameron Blacksmith, on the west by lands possessed by a certain Robert McPherson, and bounded on the south by lands owned by the said Robert McPherson containing fifty acres more or less. Together with all houses, outhouses, buildings, tenements, and hereditaments to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining with the reversion and reversions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and also all the estate right title interest claim and demand of him the said Roderick Macleod in and to the said premises and every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold the said premises, with the appurtenances aforesaid unto the said Donald MacPherson his heirs and assigns for ever, to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof for ever And the said Roderick Macleod for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth hereby covenant and grant to and with the said Donald McPherson his heirs and assigns that he the said Roderick Macleod hath good right full power and lawful authority in his own right to grant and convey all and singular the said premises with the appurtenances unto the said Donald MacPherson his heirs and assigns forever, and that he the said Roderick Macleod and his heirs, the said described premises and every part and parcel thereof unto him the said Donald MacPherson his heirs and Assigns against him the said Roderick Macleod and his heirs and against all persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents.  In witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto set their hand and seals the day and year above written, And Margaret wife fo the said Roderick Macleod in the --- of her release and relinquishment of Dower to the said Donald MacPherson in the premises before described hath also hereunto set her hand and seal the day and year aforesaid.

Personally appeared before me the above named Margaret Macleod who being first examined by me separate and apart form her said husband declared that she signed the above instrument of writing of her own free will and accord, and that there was no force or compulsion used by her said husband or any other person to cause her to do the same, given under my hand the day and date above mentioned
