This indenture made this September day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy four. Between Donald Fraser of Acadia Farmer of the town of Pictou in the County of Pictou Esquire and Catharine his wife of the one part and John MacKenzie of Carriboo Farmer. James Heslop of Pictou merchant, William Jack of Pictou railway station master and John R. Norman of Pictou merchant. Justices of the Presbyterian Church of Saint Andrews of Pictou of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Donald Fraser and Catherine his wife in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars of lawful money of Canada to the said Donald Fraser in hand well and truly paid by the said John McKenzie, James Heslop , William Jack, and John R. Norman Trustees as aforesaid at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have and each of them, hath, granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, remised, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do, and each of them doth, grant, bargain, sell alien, enfeoff, release, remise, convey and confirm, unto the said John McKenzie, James Heslop, William Jack and John R. Norman trusties as aforesaid their successors and assigns all that certain lot piece or parcel of land situate in the town of Pictou in the County of Pictou being the western part of the land occupied by the late William Murdock Blacksmith in his life time. Beginning in the south side of Church Street at a point on foot to the westward of the western side of the house of the said William Murdock thence to run south fourteen and one half degrees west on a line parallel with the western side walk of the said house fifty sex feet, or to a point eighteen feet to the south of the south west corner of the said house, thence easterly on a line parallel with the said street eleven feet on to the center of the said lot of William Murdock decease , thence southerly along the centre of the said lot until it comes t the rear of the same, thence westerly along the man line of the said lot to the western side line of the same, thence northerly along the said side line to the street aforesaid and thence easterly along said street to the place of beginning as the same in described and said off on a plan of the same made by George Hater Deputy surveyor dated the twenty sixth day of March A.D. 1858 together with all an singular, the houses, outhouses, barns, buildings, ways, water, water courses, to the same belonging on in and who appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof, and also all the estate, right, title, interest, claim, property, and demand both at law and in equity of them the said Donald Fraser and Catherine his wife of in or out of the sum or any part thereof. To have and to hold the said land and premises with the appurtenances and every part thereof unto the said John McKenzie, James Heslop, William Jack and John Norman trustees as aforesaid and assigns to their sole use benefit and behoof forever.
And the said Donald Fraser hereby for himself his heirs, executors, and administrations grant, covenant, promise and agree to and with the said John McKenzie, James Heslop, William Jack, and John Norman Trusties as aforesaid their successor and assigns in manner following that is to say- Think it shall and may be lawful for the said John McKenzie, James Heslop, William Jack and John R. Norman trusties as aforesaid their successors and assign from time to time and at all times here after peaceably and quality to enter unto the said premises and to have, hold, occupy, possess and enjoy the same without the lawful let suit, hindrance, erection, demand, or disturbance of, form or by the said Donald Fraser or Catherine his wife, or any person or person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same and also that the said Donald Fraser or Catherine his wife or one of them hath a good, sum, perfect and indefeasible estate of inheritance in fee simple in the said land and premises and every part thereof unto the said John McKenzie, James Heslop, William Jack and John R. Norm Justices as aforesaid there successors and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever shall and vow by these presents warrant and forever defend.
In witness whereof the parties to these present have hereunto their hands and seals set and affixed in the day and year first before written.

Be it remembered that on this seventeenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and seventy four before me the subscriber a justice of the peace for the county of Pictou personally came and appeared Catherine wife of Donald Fraser mentioned in the foregoing indenture who having been by me examined separate and apart from her said husband did declare and acknowledge that she executed the sadi indenture as and for her act and deed without hear thereat or compulsion of form or by her said husband and for a full release or all her claims to the land therein described.
