This indenture made the fifth day of September in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven Between William Edmonds of Pictou in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia Yeoman of the one part, and Between Edmonds of the same place singlewoman of the other part, witnesseth that for in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars of lawful money of Nova Scotia, to him in hand paid by the said Rebecca Edmonds at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged be the said William Edmonds hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, remised, released, enfeoff, and confirm unto the said Rebecca Edmonds
Heirs and Assigns all that certain lot piece or parcel of parcel of land situate lying and being in the town of Pictou, abutted bounded and described as follows that is to say beginning forty feet east being the width of Queen Victoria from the South East corner of a lot of land belonging to a Brown Fence north along the east side said Queen Victoria forty three feet thence east fifty six feet, thence south forty three feet to the North side of Prince Albert Street thence west along the North side of said Prince Albert Street forty six feet to the place of beginning. Being a lot of land purchased by the said William Edmonds from one William Lelacheir.
Also all that other certain lot piece or parcel of land situate lying and being in the Town of Pictou aforesaid and abutted bounded and described as follows, that is to say, beginning in the east side of said Queen Victoria Street and thirty three feet North from Prince Albert Street thence along said East side of said Queen Victoria Albert twenty seven feet till it reaches the south east corner of a lot of land belonging to one Rachel Lowden being lot number thirty six on the plan of said lot thence each along said south side of said lot number thirty six forty six feet till it reaches the west side of lot number thirty one on said place, Thence south along said west fine of signed lot number thirty-one, twenty seven feet, till it reaches the north side of a lot of land belonging to the said William Lelacheir , thence along said North line forty six William Lelacheir , thence north along said north line forty six feet to the place of beginning, Being one half of lot number thirty one said pal and purchased by the said William Edmonds from the said Rachel Lowden.
Together with all and singular the houses, buildings, ways, water courses, easements, privileges and appurtenances to the said lot or parcel of land belonging or appertaining with the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues, and profits, thereof and all the estate, right, title, interest, property, claim, and demand, whatsoever, at law and in equity of him the said William Edmonds into and upon the same.
To have and to hold the said lot, piece or parcel of land above described with all and singular the appurtenances her the said Rebecca Edmonds her heirs and assigns forever and the said William Edmonds his heirs, executors and administrators do by these presents covenant, promise and agree to and with the said Rebecca Edmonds her heirs and assigns in manner and form following; that is to say that William Edmonds shall and will pay or cause to be paid the said Rebecca Edmonds her executors administrators and assigns, the full sum of Two hundred dollars of lawful money as aforesaid, together with interest upon the said sum at the rate of 6 percent per annum, in manner following, that is to say: that is the said William Edmonds shall pay unto the said Rebecca Edmonds her heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, peaceably and quietly to enter into, hold and enjoy the said granted land and premises, without hindrance or disturbance of, from or by any person or persons lawfully claiming the same, or an part thereof.
