This indenture made at Pictou in the county of Halifax and Province of Nova Scotia on the second day of June in the year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the fourth.
By the grace of God of Great Britain and Ireland King, defender of the fourth and in the year of the lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three, between Hugh Dunbar of Pictou in the county and Province aforesaid yeoman on the one part, and Alexander Fraser of the East River of Pictou aforesaid Yeoman on the other part. Witnesseth that for an in consideration of the sum of twenty pounds of considerable money of Nova Scotia aforesaid in hand paid to the said Hugh Dunbar by the said Alexander Fraser the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, he the said Hugh Dunbar hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, conveyed, released, and confirmed, unto the said Alexander Fraser his Heirs, executors, administrators and assigns and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell alien, enfeoff, release, convey and confirm, unto the said Alexander Fraser his Heirs and assigns forever a certain parcel or lot of land situate, being and lying in New Glasgow upon the East side of the East River aforesaid, butted and bounded as follows, Beginning at a certain stone two roads from the lower corner of Georges sheet and running from thence North Ten road to a stake and stones, thence south sixty degrees, east two rods to a stake and stones, thence south ten rods to a stake joining upon George’s street aforesaid, thence along said street two rods to the place of beginning containing in the whole twenty square rods as surveyed to have and to hold the above described premises, with all reversion and reversions, rents, issues, profits thereto belonging, or in anywise appertaining, to him the said Alexander Fraser his Heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever, and that he the said Alexander Fraser his Heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times henceforth peaceably and quietly have, hold, occupy, property, and enjoy all and singular the said premises above mentioned for their only proper use, benefit and behoof. Furthermore the said Hugh Dunbar doth by these presents himself, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever unto the said Alexander Fraser his heirs and assigns warrant, secure, and forever Defend the above described premises in a quiet and peaceably position against any claim or claims whatsoever and intent of these presents. In witness whereof the said Hugh Dunbar has hereunto first his hand and affixed his deal, day and year above mentioned.
