This indenture made this twenty sixth day of February in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Nine, Between Donald Cameron of River John in the County of Pictou yeoman, and Flora his wife of the one part and Angus Cameron of River John aforesaid in the county aforesaid, farmer of the other part; Witnesseth that the said Donald Cameron and Flora his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Ten pounds of lawful money of the Province of Nova Scotia to them in hand Paid by the said Angus Cameron at or before the ___ of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, Have and each of them Hath, granted, Bargained, sold, alained, enfeoffed, released and confirmed and by these presents do and each of them, Doth, grant, bargain, sell, alain, enfeoff, release and confirm unto the said Angus Cameron his heirs and assigns, all that certain lot of land situate lying and being in the settlement on the eastern side of the River John and on both sides of the road leading from Pictou to River John aforesaid and is abutted bounded and described as follows. Beginning at the southern angle of land belonging to James Filler’s from thence running North thirty five degrees East, along said Filler’s lands, eighty chains crossing the said road and following for the breath thereof to the south western boundary of a lot of land granted to Mary Cameron, thence South fifty five degrees East, along said boundary, fourteen rods and one half of a Rod to the Northern angle of a lot of land granted to Donald Cameron Senior now deceased, thence south thirty five degrees west, along said lot, eighty chains crossing the said road and allowing as aforesaid and thence North, fifty five degrees west fourteen rods and one half of a rod to the place of beginning Containing Twenty nine acres more or less with all and singular the houses, buildings, woods, ways, waters, water-courses, improvements, hereditaments, privileges, and appurtenances, thereto belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders yearly and other rents, profits and profits thereof and also all the estate, right, title, use, trust, improvements, claim, property and demand whatsoever both at law and in equity of him the said Donald Cameron and all the Power or thirds or right or title to dower or thirds of her the said Flora his wife in, to, out of, or upon the said lot of land and premises above granted or any part thereof. To have and to hold the said lot of land and all and singular other the premises hereby granted and converted or mentioned or intended so to be, with their and every of their appurtenances unto him the said Angus Cameron his Heirs and assigns o his and their only proper use benefit and behoof, forever and the said Donald Cameron doth hereby for himself his heirs, executors and administrators, government, promise and agree to and with the said Angus Cameron, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns in manner and form following that is to say, that at the time of executing, these presents he the said Donald Cameron is and now stands seized of a good and sufficient title of in and o the said lot of land hereby granted and conveyed or intended so to be, without any condition or encumbrance whatsoever and that he hath good right, full power, and lawfully authority to sell and convey the said lot of land and premises in manner and form as the same are herein and hereby sold and conveyed or mentioned or intended so to be; and also that he the said Donald Cameron and his heirs the said lot of land and premises above granted to the said Angus Cameron, his heirs and assigns, against the Claims and demands of all and every person or persons whomsoever, lawfully claiming or to claim in, by, or under him, the said Donald Cameron shall and will warrant maintain and forever defend by these presents In witness whereof the said Donald Cameron and Flora his wife have hereunto severally their names subscribed and seals affixed the day and year first above written.

Received on the day of the date of the forgoing indenture from the therein named Angus Cameron the sum of ten pounds of lawful money of the Province of Nova Scotia, being in full the consideration therein mentioned to be paid by him to me.

Be it Remembered that on the thirty first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four personally appeared before me, one of her majesty’s justices of the peace for the county of Pictou, Mrs. Flora Cameron a party to the foregoing Deed and wife of Donald Cameron also a party thereto who being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband acknowledged that the said Deed was by her executed for the purpose therein mentioned and that freely and voluntarily without force or compulsion from her said husband.
