Description Deed John Fraser to Alexander Fraser

This indenture mad this eight day of January in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three between John Fraser of the West Branch East River in the County of Pictou of the one part and Alexander Fraser of the same place in the same county of the other part witness that the said John Fraser for an in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds currency to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold , released aliened and by these presents doth grant bargain sell release alien and confirmed unto the said Alexander Fraser, his heirs and assigns all that lot of land with the appurtenances situate, lying and being at said west Branch East River bounded and described as follows that is to say bounded on the east by the main highway leading from the church to the head of said West Branch, on the North by a lot of land owned and occupied by one Thomas Fraser on the west by the lands of Charles Macquarie and on the South by the lands of the said Alexander Fraser containing Twenty acres, more or less, to have and to hold the said lot of land with the appurtenances to the said Alexander Fraser his Heirs and assigns to his and their sole use forever. In witness whereof the parties have hereunto their hands and seals subscribed and set the day and year aforesaid

Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of Simon Holmes and James Holmes

Received from the above named alexander Fraser the sum of thirty pounds currency being the consideration money in the foregoing indenture mentioned.

Witness Simon Holmes

Personally appeared before me the subscriber being one of the majesty’s justices of the Peace Margaret Wife of the within named John Fraser who on being examined by me separate and apart from her husband acknowledged that the signed and sealed the foregoing deed of her own free will and record at that did thereby remise release and forever quit claim of the lands and premises therein described with regards to dower or otherwise.

 

Personally appeared before me the subscriber Simon Holmes one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing deed who made oath and said that he saw the same signed, sealed and delivered for the purpose therein mentioned.
