Description Deed Alexander Fraser to Donald Fraser

This indenture made the seventeenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven, between Alexander Fraser of the Middle River of Pictou in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia of the one part Dyster and Donald Fraser of the said Middle River, County and province, aforesaid of the other part, farmer. Witness that for and in consideration of the sum of twenty pounds to him in hand paid by the said Donald Fraser, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said Alexander Fraser Hath Granted Bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, and confirm unto him the said Donald Fraser and to his heirs forever all that lot of land being on the east side of the middle River aforesaid and bounded as follows. Beginning at the west angle said Donald Fraser farm lot and running from thence south forty five degrees east thirty eight roads, thence, north forty five degrees east ninety eight roads to the road from Middle River to Hopewell, thence north twenty degrees west eight roads thence North forty five degrees east ninety eight roads to James McLean’s west line, thence North Forty five degrees west on said Hugh Fraser and John Fraser rear line one hundred and ninety six roads to the place of beginning containing forty acres more or less with all and singular privileges and appurtenances to the said lot belonging, containing forty acres more or less with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances to the said lot belonging or in anywise appertaining, to have and to hold the said lot of land these granted and sold, and every part thereof, to him the said Donald Fraser his heirs, executors or assigns forever for their sole benefit and behoof, forever. In witnesses whereof he the said Alexander Fraser hath hereunto his hand and seal subscribed and set day and date first within written.

Anthony Fraser and Alex Fraser

Received day and date as within from the within named Donald Fraser the sum of twenty pounds lawful money of Nova Scotia being in full the consideration money for the lands within described and sold.

I hereby certify that Anthony Fraser of the middle River came before me and made oath that he was present and saw the within deed duly that he was present and saw the within deed duly signed sealed and delivered by Alexander Fraser the party thereto given under my hand at Middle River the 20th day of May 1857 Alexander Fraser personally appeared before me Alex Fraser and one of her majesty’s justices of the peace for the county of Pictou Isabelle Fraser spouse of the above subscriber Alexander Fraser who is also a party these or who being by me examined apart from her said husband deal that they signed and sealed the forgoing deed of her own freewill without any compulsion from her said husband to cause her to do, thereby to the fore named Donald Fraser all her right and title to the within described premises whether by right of Dower or otherwise
