"The Caribou N.S. and Wood Islands, P.E.I. motor vehicle and passenger ferries "Prince Edward" and "Prince Nova" started the 1974 season on Saturday, April 27. The "Lord Selkirk" will act as a spare until the busy summer season. The ferry service plys the Northumberland Strait for approximately 9 months per year, May to December, depending on the ice conditions. Service varies from four to eight rounds trips daily according to need."
