Description William H. Harris to James H. MacKay

This indenture, made this Eight day of November, in the year of Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three.  Between William H. Harris, of Pictou, in the County of Pictou, Deputy Sheriff, of the one Part and James H. MacKay, of Scotsburn, in the County of Pictou, Lumberman, of the other Part.

Witnesseth that the said William H. Harris for an in consideration of the sum of one dollar of lawful money of the Dominion of Canada, to the said William H. Harris in hand well and truly paid by the said James H. Mackay at or before the sealing and delivery of THESE PRESNETS, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath remised, released and forever quitted claim to, and by these presents doth remise, release and forever quit claim unto the said James H. MacKay, his Heirs and Assigns, All those certain lots, pieces or parcels of land situate at Scotch Hill, in the County of Pictou, and bounded and described as follows:- Beginning at a hemlock tree at the North angle of a lot of land formerly William Dunbar’s, now John F. Dunbar’s, and running thence South fifty-five degrees East on said Dunbar’s and either land until it comes to the West angle of a lot of land conveyed by one Alexander Matheson to Mary Grant (Mrs. George Grant); thence Northeastwardly along said Mrs. George Grant’s Southwest boundary line until it comes to the west angle thereof on the southwest boundary line of another lot formerly belonging to William Dunbar thence North fifty-five degrees west along same and other lands until it comes to the North angle of another lot formerly belonging to the said William Dunbar; thence south thirty-five degrees west along same until it comes to the River John Road; thence Eastwardly along the North side of said Road until it comes to the West side line of lot of land of John F. Dunbar first above mentioned and thence North thirty-five degrees East along same to the place of beginning, containing eighty-five acres more or less and being or intended to be the same lands conveyed to the said William H. Harris by deeds from the Executors of David Porter, Martha Porter and the Heirs of John W. Porter recorded in books 207 page 8, 205 page 334 and 236 page 167 of the Registry of Deeds at Pictou, together with all and singular the Easements, Tenements, Hereditaments and Appurtenances to the same belonging, or in anywise appertaining, with the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof, and all the estate, right, title, interest, claim, property and demands, both at law and in Equity of the said William H. Harris of, in to or out of the same, or any part thereof.  TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, the said land and Premises, with the appurtenances, and every part thereof, unto and to the use of the said James H. MacKay, his Heirs and Assigns, to his and their sole use, benefit and behoof forever.

Harris, the party thereto, signed, sealed and delivered in the same in her presence.
