“          This Indenture made this fifteenth day of September in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine between Alexander McLeod of the West River of Pictou in the County of Pictou Yeoman of the one part and Ebenezer McLeod of the West River of Pictou in the County of Pictou farmer of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Alexander McLeod for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds of lawful money of Nova Scotia to him in hand paid by the said Ebenezer McLeod at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained, sold, aliened, remised, released, enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, remise, release, enfeoff and confirm unto the said Ebenezer McLeod his heirs and assigns all that undivided [moiety?] or half part (the whole unto two equal parts to be considered as divided) of and in all that certain piece or parcel of land situate and being on the in thereas division of lots on the West side of West River aforesaid Beginning at a small Brook called James Fraser’s Meddow Brook and to run thence north along the said James Fraser west boundary line on hundred and ninety six rods thence west seventy rods thence south eighty rods thence west fifty two rods thence south one hundred and sixty rods thence East thirty four rods to the aforesaid Meddows Brook thence the various courses of said Brook up stream to the place of Beginning to contain one hundred and thirty six acres more or less together with all the improvements privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to Have and to Hold the said undivided [moity?] on half part (the whole into two equal parts to be considered as divided with the appurtenances to him the said Ebenezer McLeod his heirs and assigns forever in as full and ample a manner as he the said Alexander McLeod now is on by any ways or means cab be entitled to the same.

            In Witness whereof the said party to these presents has hereto his hand and seal subscribed and set the day and year first above written thoroughly by the said Ebenezer McLeod were interlined before the signing and sealing of this Indenture.
