Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou

I, Charles McKinnon of Lismore in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, being at this present time in ordinary health of body, and sound of mind and memory, do make this my Last Will and Testament hereby disposing of all worldly goods hereinafter mentioned and set forth, or such portion thereof as I may be possessed of at the time of my death.

First: The homestead I which I now dwell, that is the house with all its present furniture, the barns, stables, out-houses, farming implements, etc.,  I give and bequeath to my son Angus McKinnon.

Second: I give and bequeath to my son Angus also the farm on which I reside being situate and lying at the corner on the west side of the road leading from Lismore to Baileys brook and bounded on the East by said road, on the North by the road leading to Merigomish from Lismore, on the west by lands owned and occupied by Alex. McKinnon, and on the south by lands of Donald McDonald (Gusset), containing one hundred acres more or less.

Third: To him also (Angus) I give and bequeath my horse or horses, together with half the stock, that is half the cows, oxen, sheep etc.

Fourth: To my dear wife Jeannet I give and bequeath the other half of my stock of cows, oxen, sheep etc., to dispose of as she may think fit. The same to receive their feed and fodder on the farm.

Fifth: I give and bequeath to my son Angus my share of the wood land in the mountain at present owned by my cousin Duncan McKinnon and my self, my share being fifty acres more or less.

Sixth: I give and bequeath to my son James, the place on which he now resides consisting of house, barn and store and three acres of land more or less, and situated at Lismore joining and lying between lands at present owned and occupied by John Dan McDonald on the east, and that of James  (McAlister) McDonald on the west, during his life, after the same shall be the property of his oldest son forever.

Seventh: I give and bequeath to my son Angus all my right and title by reason of Mortgage which I hold on the property of Martin McDonald of Knoydart, he is to dispose of the same as he may deem proper.

Eighth: To my son William I gave and bequeath all my money whether deposited in the bank or otherwise invested.

Lastly: I appoint and constitute my son Angus McKinnon and my wife jennet my executor and executrix of this my last Will and Testament, and hereby annulling and cancelling any and every other Will or Testament that I may have made.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal at Pictou, in the County of Pictou, this Eighteenth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Charles McKinnon late of Lismore in the County of Pictou Farmer deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 2nd.  day of September AD 1909.
