Estate of Thomas McKenzie late of Fisher's Grant, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

In the name of God, Amen.

I, Thomas McKenzie of Fisher's Grant, in the County of Pictou Gentleman, Province of Nova Scotia being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament.

First I give my Soul to Almighty God through Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer.

Second I hereby give and bequeath to my beloved son Malcolm the lot of land I at present live on called the McKay Lot of thirty acres more or less, also the Carmichael Lot of four or five acres more or less, also that certain Lot piece or parcel of land on the face of the Hill in rear of the said Carmichael Lot and described as follows, From the Northwest corner up to the South side of Robert Spring Brook to Logan's old road long the lower side of said Road lot. Top after Hill to a spruce tree marked thence South to McKay's line and down other side at the Carmichael corner from McGregor's line towards Logan's gate by sixteen Rods back on McGregor's side and the use of all farming utensils in common with Thomas his brother.

Thirdly I hereby give and bequeath to my beloved son Thomas the remaining part of Logan's Lot from the part of the rear and also one Horse two cows six sheep the use of all farming utensils in common with Malcolm his brother and my watch and Gun and the remainder of the stock there may be I give and bequeath to my son Malcolm and hereby order that my son do support and provide for his mother and if he has a family of his own and his mother can have a separate par t of he house his mother to have her own Bedroom the kitchen and one half og the cellar and one half of the loft and house furniture and bedding as she his mother divides the same Malcolm is to keep for her one cow six sheep summer and winter and give her yearly Two Barrels Flour One Barrel Oatmeal Ten Bushels of Potatoes Five Bushels Turnips and Five Dollars in least if she demands it as long as she lives.

And I give and bequeath my family Bible to my son Malcolm and the remainder of my Books as they my wife and sons Malcolm and Thomas please to divide them.

And I hereby appoint my beloved son Daniel McKenzie My Executor and administrator of this my last Will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereto Set my hand and Seal at Fisher's Grant 30th. June 1877.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Thomas McKenzie late of Fisher's Grant, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 29th. day of 22nd. day of July AD 1879.
