Last Will and Testament of Thomas Rogers of Roger's Hill, deceased

Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds

I Thomas Rogers of Roger's Hill in the County of Pictou, Farmer, do hereby make and declare this my Last Will and Testament at the same time revoking any will by me at any time heretofore made.

I give, devise and bequeath to my dear wife, Margaret fifty dollars. To her also I give, devise and bequeath for and during her natural life all that portion of the farm lot on which I now reside at Roger's Hill aforesaid, lying between the house on said lot and the lands of my brother James, together with use for her life of the rooms in said house which I now use as parlor and bedroom with remainder of said portion on her decease to my said brother James and his heirs forever.

I give, devise and bequeath to my said brother James and to his heirs forever, the other portion of my said farm lot including the house thereon subject, as regards the house, to the use and occupation of my said wife of two rooms therein during her natural life. To him also I give, devise and bequeath my personal property of whatsoever nature and kind subject only to the payment of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and the said legacy of Fifty dollars to my said wife.

I nominate and appoint my said brother James and my brother-in-law Daniel Murray of Elmsfield in said County, to be the executors and Executrix of this my last will and testament, and I direct my said executors as soon as may be, but within one year after my decease, to pay said legacy to my said wife.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of January A.D. 1897.

SIGNED, SEALED PUBLISHED AND DECLARED by the said Thomas Rogers the testator, as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us, who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses to the due execution thereof..

IN THE NCOURT OF PROBATE

I, John D. McLeod, Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the writing or annexed typewritten paper is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Thomas Rogers late of Roger's Hill, in the County of Pictou Farmer deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the eleventh day of November A.D., 1913.
