In the Estate of Mary Ella McDonald

Certified Copy of Will

I, Mary Ella McDonald of Dartmouth in the county of Halifax, wife of William McDonald of the same place, Blacksmith, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills made by me.

  1. I appoint my said husband William McDonald the sole executor of this my last Will.,
  2. I give and devise unto my said executor the house and premises in Springville, Pictou county, in trust to sell and dispose of the same and divide the proceeds arising therefrom equally between my said husband and my children.
  3. I give unto my said executor all my shares of stock in the Nova Scotia Permanent Benefit Building Society and Saving Fund, in trust to pay the same with interest thereon to my daughter Blanche May Woodill when she shall have attained the age of twenty five years; bu my said executor is hereby empowered if he sees fit to pay over same at an earlier date.
  4. All the residue of my estate I give to my said executor in trust,

(a) to pay all my just debts,

(b) to divide the remainder share and share alike between my said husband and my two sons Aubrey McDonald and Welsford McDonald.

Signed, published and declared by the said Mary Ella McDonald as and for her last Will and Testament, in the presence of us who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.

Be it remembered that on this 22nd. day of February 1905, before me the subscriber came and appeared May Ella McDonald of Dartmouth, wife of William McDonald of the same place, Blacksmith, the testatrix mentioned in the foregoing will who having been by me examined separate and apart from her said husband did declare and acknowledge that she executed the said will of her own free will and without any fear threat or compulsion or other undue influence of from or by her said husband. Such declaration was made in presence of the attending witnesses.
