Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
The Last Will and Testament of John McDonald
In the name of God, Amen.
I, John McDonald Farmer of West Branch in the County of Pictou, Gentleman, Province of Nova Scotia being the day in the enjoyment of sound mind and memory have resolved to do make and declare this my last Will and Testament.
1st. I ordain that my body be interred in a decent and Christian manner and that all my just debts be paid out of my Estate.
2nd. To Margaret my beloved wife I bequeath the use of that part of the house at present occupied by me, also use of two cows and of four sheep three hundred weight of flour two hundred weight of oatmeal and Twenty bushels of Potatoes yearly and every year during the term of her natural life also the use of a horse and waggon to enable her to attend dining or dances and for such other uses as may be deemed right by my Executors. Also I bequeath to her a lot of land situate lying and being at the rear of lands owned by John McDonald my son running West by Duncan Fraser's land North to David Ross's land East to John McDonald aforesaid and back to place of beginning.
I also make constitute and ordain Thomas McDonald Elder and William McLeod my Sole Executors of this my last Will and testament and I do utterly revoke disallow ad disannul and every other former Testaments, Wills bequests ratifying and confirming this and no other as my Last Will and Testament.
In Witness Whereof I have hereto my hand and Seal subscribed and Set this sixteenth day of September in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy two.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John McDonald late of West Branch of the East River, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 10th. day of July A.D. 1879.
