Last Will and Testament of Coll McDonald

Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou

In the name of God, Amen. I Coll McDonald of Cape John in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, And in the Sixty Second year of my age, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, and not acting under undue influence of any kind, or person whatsoever, do make, publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament, in the manner following, that is to say:

First: I give my Soul to God Who gave it, and my body to the dust, also to pay all my just and legal debts, and pay my funeral expenses.

Second: I give and bequeath to the British and Foreign Bible Society, One hundred dollars.

Third: I give and bequeath to David McDonald Donald's son, my cousin, of Cape John, one Gray Horse, named Johnie.

Fourth: I give and bequeath to my half sister, wife of Daniel Patterson, Forty dollars.

Fifth: I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Ann McDonald all the remainder of my property of every kind real estate ad personal property, to be her own property, and to be disposed of as she wishes.

Sixth and last: I do hereby nominate and appoint John McKenzie of River John Merchant Executor and my wife Mary Ann McDonald, Executrix jointly of this my last Will and Testament.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set this third day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and ninety seven.

I, John D. McLeod, Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Coll McDonald late of Cape John in the County of Pictou Farmer, deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the Eighteenth day of September A.D. 1913.
