Estate of William Sutherland late of Central Carriboo, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Sutherland of Central Carriboo in the County of Pictou, Farmer.

I give devise and bequeathed unto my son Andrew W.H. Sutherland all the Eastern have heard of my farm with dwelling, barns and buildings thereon situate at Central Cariboo in the County of Pictou, said Eastern half part to be ascertained defined and laid off by a line to be run from the Central point on the southern frontage on the Cariboo Road and to extend northerly to the Center point of northern abuttal line of said farm To Have and To Hold the said Eastern half part of said farm with the buildings and appurtenances unto him the said Andrew W. H. Sutherland and his heirs and assigns forever.

I give device and bequeath to my son Duncan Martin Sutherland his heirs and assigns forever the remaining or Eastern half part of said farm.

I give devise and bequeath to my son George William Sutherland the sum of One hundred dollars Canada money.

After the payment of my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses out of my personal estate by my executors or the survivor of them hereinafter named, I give devise and bequeath to my said son Andrew W. H. Sutherland all the rest and residue of my personal property and estate consisting of horses, cows, sheep, farming utensils, household furniture, and moneys whether on deposit in banks or otherwise invested and every other description of personal estate I may own, be possessed of, or entitled to at the time of my decease.

I hereby nominate and appoint George H. Elliot of Pictou, Barrister at law and my said son Andrew W.H. Sutherland and the survivor of them, executors and executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other former Will and testamentary writings.

In witness whereof I have hereto my hand subscribed and Seal affixed this twenty sixth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

This is the first Codicil to the last Will and Testament of me William Sutherland of Central Cariboo in the County of Pictou Farmer.

Having by indenture dated on or about the thirteenth day of March one thousand eight hundred and ninety three conveyed to my son Duncan Martin Sutherland the western half of my farm at Central Cariboo in said County it is my intention and will that said Duncan Martin Sutherland take nothing under this my said last and testament, which said will has date the twenty seventh day of November one thousand Eight hundred and ninety.

I hereby in all other respects ratify and confirm my said will.

In witness whereof I have to this the first Codicil of my last Will and Testament subscribe my name and affixed my seal this fourteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety- three.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two & a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament and Codicil of William Sutherland late of Central Carriboo, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 18^th. day of December A.D. 1893.
