Estate of George Sutherland late of Garden of Eden, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
Know all men by these presents that I George Sutherland of Garden of Eden, County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, Famer, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made,
1st. I bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Sutherland all that certain lot of land Situated at Garden of Eden, aforesaid, described as follows, that is to say, that part of Lot No. 6 and lot No. 7 north of the old Saw Mill, and not included in John J. Sutherland's deed, up to McIntosh's South line from front to rear, containing one hundred acres more or less for her Sole use and benefit during her natural life, to be used for her benefit at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named. Should the above described land be not sold at her decease, the above to revert to John James my son, Subject however to the following conditions that is that he the said John James pay to my son George on demand One Hundred dollars, also to my daughter Elizabeth Forty dollars., to my daughter Maggie fifty dollars, to my daughter Anne forty dollars.
I also bequeath to my beloved wife all the personal property of which I shall be entitled at my decease, Cattle, Sheep, Horses, farming implements, notes of hand, Deposit receipts or Cash, out of which all my legal debts, funeral expenses, and all such will be paid, the balance to be devoted to the maintenance and comfort of my wife during her natural life.
I also bequeath to my son John James Sutherland all that lot of land between Don Fraser's North line and the South line of land deeded to the said John J. Sutherland Oct. 3rd. 1895. from front to rear, also I bequeath to my son John J. Sutherland all that lot of land Situated at Hunter's Brook so called, so long as he remains on the Home Stead.
Lastly, I do nominate & appoint as executors to this my last Will and testament, Elizabeth Sutherland my wife and Roderick McDougall, Merchant of Blue Mountain.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one & a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of George Sutherland late of Garden of Eden, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 3rd.day of Septr. A.D. 1897.
