Estate of Donald Sutherland late of River John, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

In the name of God, Amen.

I Donald Sutherland of River John and County of Pictou, Farmer, being of sound mind and retentive memory and knowing that it is appointed or all men once to die, Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament. First of all, I give and recommend my Soul unto Almighty God that gave it, and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and becoming Christina manner, at the discretion of my Executors, and as to touching my earthly estate wherewith God has pleased to bless me with in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

1^st. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Sibella Sutherland the property at Rive John and the one on which we now reside and the 20 acre lot adjoining the properties of A.A. McKay, Charles Fogo, C.G. Langill, Ebenezer Langille and Allan Weir.

2^nd. I give and devise unto the said Sibella my wife as aforesaid, all my livestock, implements, moneys, promissory notes of hand, debts, mortgages, etc.

I also hereby appoint Alex. J. McKay of River John and Kenneth Ross of Loganville both of the County of Pictou to be the executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments, Will, legacies, bequests, and executors by me in any wise before names, Wills, and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have hereto Set my hand this first day of May in the year of our Lord, One thousand Eight hundred and ninety four. Signed         Donald Sutherland     L.S.
