Estate of Nathan Stiles late of Carriboo, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

In the name of God, Amen.

I, Nathan Stiles of Carriboo in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, Farmer, being of sound mind, Do make and publish my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say, I will and direct that all my just and lawful debts be paid, and my funeral expenses defrayed by my Executors, hereinafter too be named, out of the proceeds of my estate.

I give and devise to my beloved wife Jane a conformable living on the farm on which she now resides with joint control of the dwelling house thereon, such living not to be inferior to that to which she has been accustomed, also the use of a horse and carriage when she may require the same.

I also give and devise to my said wife the Sum of One hundred dollars (now in the Bank) for her Sole use and benefit and to be at her entire disposal.

I give devise and bequeath to my Son James J. his heirs and assigns all my real estate of which I shall be possess at the time of my decease, to hold the same in fee simple forever, together with all my personal property of every kind, whether consisting of stock, implements of husbandry, and farming utensils, furniture of all kinds, debts sue me, or property of any kind, which shall belong to me at the time of my decease, subject however to the foregoing bequest, mentioned and specified, and also to the comfortable maintenance and support of my beloved wife Jane as aforesaid.

Finally, I hereby nominate and appoint my son James J. Stiles, and my friend David MacKay of Millbrook Farm, Executors of this my last Will and Testament, giving them full power to transact all business connected with the execution of this my last Will and Testament and I hereby revoke all wills and Testaments heretofore by me made, and Executed.

In witness whereof I have hereunto Subscribed my name and affixed my Seal at Carriboo aforesaid this Twenty fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and ninety seven..

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one & a quarter pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Nathan Stiles late of Carriboo, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 29th. day of July A.D. 1897.
