Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou

I, John Stewart, of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, contractor, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

First, I hereby constitute and appoint my son James, to be my sole executor, of this my last will, directing my said executor, to pay all my just debts & funeral and testamentary expenses and legacies,

Second, I give, devise and bequeath to my wife Annie, and to my daughter Ella, all my property on Temperance Street, consisting of a dwelling house, land, tenements and hereditments, and all household furniture, and personal estate, and effects, to and for their own absolute use and benefit, to be owned equally by them during their natural lifetime but on the decease of either of them, the remainder I give and devise to the remaining one for her own absolute possession,

Third, and for the payment of the debts and legacies aforesaid I give and devise and bequeath to my wife Annie and to my daughter Ella, all my property on the corner of South George Street and Prince Albert Street, known as Stewart's Factory, consisting of lands, buildings, machinery tools and all personal property, including office effects, safe, books, cash in bank or otherwise, and after the payment of all debts and legacies the balance of the proceeds of same goes equally to their own use and benefit,

Fourth, I give, devise and bequeath to my two sons James, and Robert Angus, all my property at Piedmont in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, consisting of the old Homestead, land, houses, barns, tenements, and herediments, and all the household furniture, and personal effects of any kind thereat, to and for their absolute use and benefit, to be owned equally by each of them.

I wish it understood in all the aforesaid bequests, my wife is to have her choice between her dower and the bequest.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 27th. day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ten.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of John Stewart late of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou Contractor deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 7th. day of May AD 1912.
