Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou

This is the last will and testament of William Sobey of Lyons Brook in the County of Pictou, farmer.

1. I give and devise to my son Charles Sobey all my farm situated at Lyon's Brook aforesaid, being the property conveyed to me by John R. McKenzie and others by deed dated the fourteenth day of August A.D., 1867 and registered in book sixty-nine at page six hundred and fifty-three of the registry of deeds for the County of Pictou: And also all my farm crops, horses, cattle and other farm stock, and implements, goods, machines and utensils and tools: Provided however that my wife Janet shall during her material life have her home on aid farm and be suitably supported and provided for my said Charles Sobey: and provided further that my daughter Mary Jane shall have the right to make her home on said farm while she remains unmarried.
2. I give and bequeath to my wife Janet All my household furniture, goods, chattels and effects in my dwelling house on said farm.
3. To each of my children James Sobey, Margaret Sobey Olsen, John W. Sobey, Sarah Sobey Reves, Mary Jane Sobey, Fred Sobey and Henry T. Sobey I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred dollars: such sums to be paid to them out of the moneys I have deposited in bank or securities for money standing in my name.
4. The residue and remainder of my personal property, after payment of my debts and funeral and Testamentary expenses I give and bequeath to my wife Janet.

It is to be understood that the foregoing bequests to and provisions for my wife shall be accepted by her in lieu of and satisfaction of dower and other statutory claim.

I appoint my wife Janet and my son Charles to be executrix and executor of this my Will.

I revoke all former wills by me heretofore made.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-seventh day of April A.D., 1910.

McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of William Sobey late of Lyons Brook in the County of Pictou Farmer deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 7^th. day of October AD 1910.
