Will of William Smith late of New Glasgow, deceased
Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou
I William Smith of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou Jailor do make this my Last Will and Testament.
1st. I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Christina Smith the lot of land and two houses in the Town of New Glasgow situate on the north side of McIntosh Street and the south side of Jerry Street.
2nd. I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Christiann the lot and house in New Glasgow situate on the South side of McIntosh Street and west of the property conveyed to Eliza Hill and also the lot of land on the River Bank conveyed to me by Mary McKenzie and also two hundred dollars in money.
3rd. I give and bequeath unto my executors hereinafter named my lands at Trenton and also my lands at Piedmont in the County of Pictou with power and authority to sell and convey the said lands for the best price offered therefore and convert into money for the purposes of the bequests herein made.
4th. I give unto my son Robert one hundred dollars in money.
5th. I give unto my son James Benjamin two hundred dollars in money.
6th. I give unto my daughter Eliza Hill one hundred dollars in money.
7th. I give unto my daughter Jeanie Strong one hundred dollars in money.
8th. I give unto the children of Eliza Hill namely, Charles Frank Ernest and Benjamin the sum of Twenty dollars each which shall be deposited to their credit in the Dominion Savings Bank and remain there until they respectively attain the age of twenty one.
9th. I give unto the children of Jeanie Strong namely Bertha Mary Ethel Helen Ira Willie and Gladys the sum of ten dollars each.
10th. I give unto my wife Christina all my household furniture furnishings fixtures and utensils (except the organ sewing machine and Bicycle which belong to Christiann my daughter) together with all the rest and residue of my estate.
I appoint my wife Christina executrix and John McGillivray Barrister executor of this my Will.
Dated this twentieth day of February 1900.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of William Smith late of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou Jailor deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 9th. day of March 1900.
Witness my hand at Pictou this 9th. day of March 1900.
