Estate of Robert Smith late of New Glasgow, Shipwright, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
In the name of God, Amen.
I, Robert Smith of New Glasgow, in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, Shipwright, being at present weak in body but of perfect sound mind and memory, and well knowing the uncertainty of human life, do hereby make this my last Will and Testament.
My Soul I commit to God who hath redeemed it.
My body to be decently buried, chargeable to my estate.
All my personal property I bequeath to my wife Eliza Jane Smith.
My real estate of whatever kind including my dwelling house, I bequeath to my wife Eliza Jane Smith, during the term of her natural life provided she does not again marry, but if she marry, the said real estate and dwelling house shall be the joint property of (her and) my two children John George Smith, and Lydia Matilda Smith.
I order that on the death of my wife my real estate and dwelling house shall be the joint property of my two children before named or the sole survivor of them and in the event of their mother's marriage, shall the property immediately revert to and become the sole property of my children before named, or the property of the survivor of them.
I hereby declare this to be my last Will and Testament, revoking all others.
I nominate my wife executrix and Hugh Livingstone my (word scratched out and initialed) neighbor my executors of this my last Will and Testament.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one & a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Robert Smith late of New Glasgow, in the County of Pictou, Shipwright, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 16th.day of August A.D. 1880.
