Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I David Smith of the West River, in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, Farmer, considering the uncertainty of this life and being of sound mind do make this my last Will and Testament as follows,

I will and bequeath to my son John David Smith of the West River in the County and Province aforesaid the Farm on which I now reside or so much thereof as I may own at the time of my death with all the appurtenances thereof or thereto belonging. Also the furniture of my House together with the Farming implements of whatsoever kind as well as my Stock Crop whether on the field or in the Barns, with all other property whether Real or personal of which I may die possessed, for his Sole use and benefit and for the comfortable maintenance of his mother during her life time.

And I do hereby name and appoint my son John David Smith my executor for carrying out this my last Will and testament.

In witness whereof I have Signed and Sealed this on the first day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Eighty nine.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of David Smith late of the West River in the County of Pictou, Farmer deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
