Estate of Daniel Simpson late of Merigomish, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
This is the last Will of Daniel Simpson of Merigomish in the County of Pictou, Farmer
I Daniel Simpson being of Sound and disposing mind do make declare and publish this my last Will as follows,
First. I give devise and bequeath to my wife Catherine Ann her support and maintenance consisting of bed board and apparel and other necessaries and comforts of life also the large room in the north west end of the dwelling house in which I reside during her natural life, her said support and maintenance as above described to be provided and supplied by my son David and in the event of my said son David refusing or neglecting to furnish or supply the above mentioned support for my said wife, she shall be provided for and supported from and out of my estate in the way and manner that she my said wife and my executors hereafter named or one of them concurring with her may agree, but they shall in no way encumber the estate.
Second. I give devise and bequeath to my son Thomas that lot of land situate at said Merigomish bounded on the south by the Highway on the west by lands of Thomas Copeland on the north by the railway on the East by land of Samuel D. Stewart containing one acre more or less, reserving a road or right of way running North eight feet wife for the use of my son David the said lot of land to my son Thomas his heirs and assigns forever.
Third. I give devise and bequeath to my son David his Heirs, executors administrators and assigns subject to the conditions in the first clause in this will, all my real estate not heretofore named consisting of the farm lot on which I reside at said Merigomish and bounded as follows, on the north by the Highway on the east by land of Samuel D. Stewart and James W. Foote on the south by lands od David Simpson on the west by lands of Thomas Copeland with the buildings, also the portion of said Farm lot North of the railway, Bounded on the North by the French River, on the East by lands of Jacob Olding on the West by lands od Thomas Copeland, also a lot of land situate at |French River and bounded on the North by the Marshy Hope Road on the West by lands of James McLaren, on the South by lands of William F. Reid and George Browning on the East by lands of Alexander Forbes said lot containing ten acres more or less.
Fourth. I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Catherine a cow.
Fifth. I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Agnus Jane wife of Neil Gunn and my Son Nathaniel D. ten dollars each (my son Daniel having been already provided for by a deed) said Sum to be paid the them by my executors out of my personal estate.
Sixth. I give devise and bequeath to my said son David, all my personal property of whatever nature or description which shall remain after paying the expenses of my funeral and proving this my will, and paying all my just and lawful debts, and other bequests heretofore made.
I hereby nominate and appoint my said son David Simpson and John D. Fraser of French River farmer, executors of this my last Will and testament.
In testimony whereof I the said Daniel Simpson have to this my last Will and testament, Subscribed my name and affixed my Seal this twenty fourth day of February A.D. 1892.

Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Daniel Simpson as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Daniel Simpson late of Merigomish, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 15th.day of July A.D. 1896.
