Estate of John Potter late of Westville, Miner, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I, John Potter Senior of Westville in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, being of sound disposing mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament.

I give devise and bequeath my estate and property real and personal as follows - that is to say -

First - I give devise and bequeath unto my son John Potter Twenty cents.

Second - I give devise and bequeath unto my son Benjamin Potter Twenty cents.

Third - I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Ellen wife of John Mooney of Stellarton in the County aforesaid all my real and personal property consisting of Five dwelling houses- with the outhouses and appurtenances thereto belonging in the village of Westville, and now owned by me together with the lands attached to each, all my personal and household effects of every nature and kind whatsoever also any money or valuables whether on hand at the time of my decease or otherwise invested in Bank Stock or deposits or otherwise. To Have and to hold the same to her the said Ellen Mooney in her own right for herself and her heirs forever.

I do hereby appoint my son in law John Mooney and my friend Charles Holmes of Stellarton aforesaid to be executors of this my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I the said John Potter do set this my hand and Seal hereunto this eighteenth day of June A.D. 1886.

Signed Sealed published and declared by the said John Potter as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of each other and in that of the testator, and at his request have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page and part of a page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John Potter late of Westville, in the County of Pictou, Miner, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 18th.day of June A.D. 1887.
