Estate of James Patton late of Merigomish, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

This is the last Will and Testament of James Patton of Ponds, Merigomish, in the County of Pictou, Farmer.

1st.  I give devise and bequeath to my son John the Farm on which now reside with all the houses and buildings thereon, also all my real and personal property of whatsoever kind or nature/ on consideration that my said John shall erect a suitable Head Stone over the grave of his mother, and also over my grave after my death and shall pay all funeral expenses and any other expenses or debts that may be owing a the time of my death/excepting as hereafter devised.

2nd.  I give devise and bequeath to my son Thomas one Cow and the bed and bedding in his room in the house devised to my son John.

3rd.  I give devise and bequeath to my sons James and Nathaniel should they ever return to Nova Scotia one Cow each.

4th.  I appoint my son John Copeland Farmer, and my son Thomas sole Executors of this my last Will and testament hereby revoking all other wills or Codicils I may have made and confirming firmly the within.

In witness whereof I have hereto Set my hand and Seal this sixth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty one.
