Estate of Robert Patterson late of Pictou, Gentleman, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I, Robert Patterson of Pictou ,in the County of Pictou, Gentleman, do hereby make, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament.
1st. I do nominate, constitute and appoint my son William W. Patterson of Liverpool, Great Britain, Merchant, and John Patterson of Boston, United States, Furniture Dealer, and my daughter Mary Elizabeth Patterson, Executors and Executrix of this my last Will and testament.
2nd. I give devise and bequeath to my said executors and executrix and the survivor of them, all my real and personal property and estate of every kind and description, To Have and To Hold to them and or survivor of them, in Trust for the following purposes vz.
3rd. That my beloved wife Elizabeth during her natural life shall have the use, Sole control and management of the dwelling house and premises, with the appurtenances, in which we reside, with the entire contents thereof of every kind and description, the rents of all the real estate and the interest accruing on all monies invested, owned by me, for her own use and benefit including the support and maintenance of our daughter the said Elizabeth Mary.
4th. That at the decease of my said wife Elizabeth I will and direct that my said Executors and Executrix shall convert the said estate then remaining, by appraisement, Sale, or otherwise, into capital, and there from forthwith pay all debts and Testamentary and other charges in connection with the final settlement thereof and within eighteen months thereafter pay to my nieces Mary Elizabeth Patterson, Clara Patterson, and Louisa Patterson, the daughters of my deceased son James Patterson, or the survivor of them, the sum of Eight hundred Dollars Nova Scotia currency, to be divided equally between them, and the remainder of my said estate having been apportioned into five equal portions or shares, I will and direct the same shall be distributed and paid as follows vizt. One part or share thereof to my said son William M. Patterson, another part or share thereof to my said son John Patterson, another part of share thereof to my son the Revd. Isaac M. Patterson of Milford, New Jersey, in the United states aforesaid, and the remaining two parts or shares thereof to my said daughter Elizabeth Mary Paterson.
In witness whereof I have hereto Set my hand and Seal Sat Pictou, aforesaid this third day of April A.D. 1880 revoking and annulling all other and former wills by me made, ratifying and confirming this as my last Will and Testament.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Robert Patterson late of Pictou, in the County of Pictou, Gentleman, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
