Estate of Nicholas P. Olding late of Merigomish, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I, Nicholas P. Olding of Merigomish in the County of Pictou, Farmer, hereby make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament, at the same time revoking any and all Wills by me at any time heretofore made.

I direct that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, be paid and satisfied by my executors hereinafter named, as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.

I give devise and bequeath to my sons Thomas B. and William D. all my real and all my personal estate, excepting my piano, of whatsoever nature and kind or wheresoever situate, share and share alike.

My said piano I give to my three daughters Nancy G., Sarah J., and Elizabeth E.

I hereby bequeath to my daughter Anna Williams twenty Dollars ($20.00), to my Grandson Nicolas P. Williams Ten Dollars ($10.00) and I make the payment of these said sums a charge upon my real estate hereinbefore devised to my said sons.

I hereby bequeath to my daughters Margaret C. Olding, One hundred and twenty five Dollars ($125.00), to my daughters Nancy G., Sarah J., and Elizabeth E. Fifty Dollars ($50.00) each, the said sums to be paid to each of my said daughters, Margaret C., Nancy G., Sarah J., and Elizabeth E. upon their respective marriages, and I make the payment of the sums herein bequeathed to my said four daughters last named, a charge upon my real estate, hereinbefore devised to my said sons.

And it is my will that so long as my said four daughters last mentioned, and each or any of them shall assist as they have and each has hereinbefore done ion the housework and necessary women’s work about the farm, and in return thereof, I direct that my said daughters, so long as they or each or any of them remain or remains unmarried shall have the right to live in the house which I now live, or which may be built in its stead, and I also direct that my said sons shall provide my said daughters and each or any of them, so long as they or any of them remain unmarried, with suitable food and appropriate clothing, and shall allot them and each or any of them the same privileges as they have heretofore had.

I nominate and appoint my said sons Thomas B. and William D. as executors of this my last Will and testament.

In testimony whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament subscribed and set my Hand and Seal this tenth day of March A.D. 1898.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Nicholas P.
