Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou

I John D. Murray of New Rynie Farm, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, do make, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made.

I appoint my wife Jane Murray and my friend John Underwood of New Glasgow, Manufacturer to be the  executors and trustees of this my last Will.

I give and bequeath to the trustees of Prince Street Church, Pictou the sum of Four hundred dollars to be applied to such purposes in connection with the church or congregation as they shall think fit.

I give and bequeath to my friend, Fraser G. Marshall, the sum of Two hundred dollars to be used and applied in his absolute discretion to the purposes of the Young Men's Christian Association work.

All the residue and remainder of my estate of whatsoever nature and kind and wheresoever situate, I give devise and bequeath to my executors and trustees hereinbefore named i trust for my said wife Jane Murray during her lifetime with liberty to the said Jane Murray in her lifetime to encroach upon and use not exceeding one moiety of the corpus or principal in her lifetime or dispose of the same at her absolute discretion either by will or otherwise.

At the death of said Jane Murray the other or remaining moiety shall be divided amongst my next of kin in such shares or proportions as my said wife shall by her last will or other writing executed by her in the presence o two or more witnesses declare and determine, such apportionment to be in the sole and absolute discretion of my said wife.

It is further my wish and will that my said wife shall continue to occupy our present dwelling so long as she may desire to do so and that the farm shall continue as nearly as conveniently may be in the future as in the past.

I hereby authorize my said executors and trustees in their absolute discretion to sell and dispose of the whole or any portion of my estate real and personal and from time to time to collect, call in or convert into money all or any of  my investments and new or other investments from time to time to make.

In witness whereof I have my hand subscribed  to this my will on this and the other side of this sheet written this twelfth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

Signed, published and declared by the above named John D. Murray  as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us both present at the same time, who, in his presence and in the presence of each other, have at his request hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.

I, John D. Murray of New Rhynie Farm in the County of Pictou, Farmer, do hereby make, publish and declare this to be a codicil to my Will dated the twelfth day of July 1913.

I give and bequeath to my niece, Clara Jane Murray the sum of Two hundred dollars. In all other respects I do hereby ratify and confirm my said will.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto subscribed  my hand to this codicil to my said will on this twelfth day of July, A.D. 1913.

IN THE COURT OF PROBATE

I, John D. McLeod, Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of John D. Murray late of New Rhynie Farm, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the Twenty-third  day of August A.D., 1913.
