Estate of Donald Munroe late of Carriboo, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
This is the last Will and testament of me Donald Munroe of Carriboo, in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, Farmer, of the same place.
First, I give devise and bequeath to my son Donald Munroe the Farm that I now reside on containing one hundred Acres more or less, To have and to hold the same for him and his heirs and assigns forever,
Subject to and chargeable with the support and maintenance of his mother and my beloved wife Nancy Munroe in the following way, That is to say my beloved wife the said Nancy Munroe shall have the use of one half of the House, with the one half of my household furniture, and bedding during her lifetime. Also that my said son Donald Munroe will give or cause to be given to my beloved wife the said Nancy Munroe, annually two barrels of good flour, one barrel of oatmeal and twenty bushels of potatoes. Also she is to have the use of two cows and six sheep for her own use and benefit and all increase accruing from such stock above mentioned, during her life, should she survive me.
I also give, devise and bequeath to my second daughter Jessey Munroe the use of the sitting room fronting the harbour and the bedroom she now occupies with suitable boarding so long as she remains unmarried – and after the death of her mother with all the furniture and bedding usually used in said rooms.
Also I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy Munroe the Town Lot I now own in the town of New Glasgow fronting the street leading from New Glasgow to Little Harbour, and joining the lands of William Rofs, James McKay, and John McKay, Esq., containing three quarters of an acre, more or less, to have and to hold the same for her and her Heirs forever, if not disposed of during my life time.
Lastly, I give and bequeath to my son Donald Munroe all the residue of my property of whatsoever nature after the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses to have and to hold the same to him and his heirs forever.
And I hereby nominate and appoint Archibald McKay and Donald Fraser Esqrs. Executors of this my last Will and testament hereby revoking all other and former wills.
In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal Subscribed at Carriboo this first day of June 1881. In the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighty one.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Donald Munroe, late of Carriboo in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this thirtieth day of January A.D. 1883.
