Estate of Angus Munro late of Brookland, Elder, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

Know all men by these presents that I Angus Munro Elder of Brookland of sound disposing mind and judgement do make and ordain this my last Will and testament.

1St. I give and bequeath to my son Kenneth A. Munro all my real estate to have and to hold for himself ad his heirs forever.

2nd. I give and bequeath to my son Kenneth A. Munro also all my personal property.

3rd. I require my son Kenneth A. Munro to give to my wife Nancy the room now used as a parlor and the adjoining bedroom or her sole and separate use during the term of her natural life, and to provide her with a sufficient quantity of firewood prepared for the stove.

4th. I require my son Kenneth A. Munro also to give to my wife Nancy, the following portion yearly during the term of her natural life – viz. one bbl. Flour two hundred weight oatmeal, twenty bushels potatoes, one hundred pounds beef, fifty pounds pork, twenty pounds sugar, twelve pounds tea, and to keep on the farm for her Sole and separate use one Cow and two sheep, and to keep her suitably clad with shoes.

(5) I require also that my daughter Margaret, and Annie shall have a home with him the said Kenneth A. Munro whenever they desire it as long as they remain unmarried an that he shall give each in the event of marriage one Cow and two sheep.

(6) I require also that the said Kenneth A. Munro shall as usual assist in clothing his younger brothers until they get into some way of doing for themselves.

(7) I appoint Murdoch Munro Elder of Brookland and my brother John Munro of Brookland as Executors of this my last Will and testament. Signed on Nov. 21st. 1883.

Signed Sealed and declared to be his last Will and testament by the said Angus Munro Elder of Brookland in the presence of the witnesses signed below, who at his request and in his presence, and in the presence of each other do hereby on this 21st. day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty three, Subscribe ourselves as witnesses to this his last Will and Testament.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Angus Munro late of Brookland in the County of Pictou, Elder, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 12th. day of August A.D. 1884.
