Estate of William Morton late of New Glasgow, Yeoman, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I William Morton of New Glasgow, in the County of Pictou Yeoman, do hereby make and declare this to be my last Will and testament, at the same time revoking all former wills and testaments by me at any time made.
I authorize my executors hereinafter named to pay all my just debts and funeral and other expenses and the expenses attendant upon the settlement of my estate.
I give and bequeath to my daughters Janet wife of James Wilson Little Harbor, Elizabeth wife of James Fraser Halifax and Margaret lately married, but whose husbands name I do not know, four hundred dollars each.
I give and bequeath to my grandsons William A. and Archibald Morton sons of my son William Morton two hundred dollars.
I give and bequeath to my wife Janet Morton Seven hundred dollars, and to her also I give and bequeath the residue of my estate if any there be after the legacies and expenses mentioned herein have been paid.
I further give and bequeath to my said wife the Sole use and occupation of that certain lot of land upon which I now reside Situate at said New Glasgow and of the houses buildings and appurtenances thereto belonging to have and to hold the same to her for and during the term of her natural life, I also give and bequeath to my said wife all the household furniture and personal effects Situate in the house in which In now reside saving and excepting only one large eight day clock which I do hereby give and bequeath to my said daughter Janet wife of James Wilson.
I give and bequeath to my said Grandson William A. Morton the reversion to or remainder in the said lot of land and its appurtenances hereinbefore referred to, to have and to hold the said lot of land with is appurtenances unto and to the use of the said William A. Morton his heirs and assigns, from and after the decease of my said wife forever.
I hereby nominate and appoint George Patterson of New Glasgow aforesaid Barrister to be the Sole Executor of this my last Will and testament.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto my hand and Seal Subscribed and Set this sixth day of September in the year of our |Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of me William Morton of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou Yeoman, which said Will and Testament bears date the sixth day of September A.D. 1890.
I give and bequeath to my grandson Joseph Wilson son of James Wilson, Little Harbor, One hundred dollars.
I hereby revoke the appointment of George Patterson of said New Glasgow Barrister as the Sole executor of my said late Will and Testament, and do hereby nominate and appoint the said George Patterson and James Wilson of Little Harbor in the said County Farmer to be executors of my said last Will and Testament.
In all other respects I do confirm my said last Will and Testament.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto my hand and Seal Subscribed and set on this ninth day of September in the year of our Lord, One thousand Eight hundred and ninety.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of three pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of William Morton, & Codicil thereto, late of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Yeoman, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 16th. day of August A.D. 1892.
