Estate of John Mooney late of Stellarton, Miner, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I John Mooney of Stellarton in the County of Pictou, being of sound disposing mind and memory but infirm in body, do hereby make and publish this my last Will and testament.
First, I order that my body be decently interred, my Spirit I assign to the God that gave it.
2nd. (words scratched out) I give devise and bequeath unto my two sons Joseph and John Mooney the real estate owned by me on the Eastern side of Main Street and now occupied as shop and dwelling by John A. Beaton, each party to possess one half of the proceeds if the property is sold, while unsold each to possess one half of the rent accruing.
3rd. I give devise and bequeath unto my two sons Daniel and James the property owned by me on the western side of Main Street, and now occupied by T.H. McKenzie, Baker, in equal shares, when sold, and in the meantime the rent accruing to e divided in equal parts.
4th. I give devise and bequeath unto my two sons Joseph and John Mooney the small shop adjoining the property already bequeathed them in equal shares.
5th. I desire that my wearing apparel nay be divided among my family as may be mutually agreed on by the parties concerned also any personal property I may possess at death.
6th. I appoint James R. Murray and John I. Hoar executor of this my last Will and testament.
7th. I order that they out of the rents accruing from the different properties bequeathed, or out of the proceeds if sold, should pay insurance and taxes due by the estate, and also that they shall liquidate all funeral expenses and other incidental charges. That all money possessed by me at death shall be first used in liquidation of such charges if found insufficient, Balance to be taken out of the Estate.
I desire that a marble headstone be place on my remains in the cemetery at Lourdes, and also that the remains of Wm. and Elizabeth and Laura removed from Duff's graveyard to Lourdes cemetery.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page and a quarter pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John Mooney, late of Stellarton in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand (words scratched out) at Pictou this 29th. day of June A.D. 1899.
