Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I William Mitchell of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Medical Doctor being of sound and disposing mind ad memory hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament.

I give devise and bequeath my estate and property real and personal and mixed as follows – that is to say,

I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Jessie Mitchell for her on use and benefit during the term of her natural life all mu household furniture and personal property and effects of every kind and nature whatsoever together with all such sum or sums of money as I may be possessed of or entitled to at the time of my decease. Whether deposited in bank, or by notes of hand, book debts, or otherwise.

I also give to my said beloved wife Jessie Mitchell the use improvement and income during the term of her natural life of all that certain lot of land with the houses buildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining situate in said New Glasgow and bounded and described as follows bounded easterly by Provost Street, southerly by Prince Albert Street, westerly by lands of Mrs. Alexander Chisholm Widow, and lands now or formerly owned by one Henry Cunningham, and northerly by lands owned and occupied by one James Matheson.

I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Willah Fraser Mitchell and her heirs and assigns forever, after the decease of my said beloved wife, Jessie Mitchell all the land above mentioned and described lot of land together with all and singular the houses buildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining and all profits and income that may result therefrom, To Have and To Hold the said described lot of land, with all and singular the appurtenances to her my said daughter Willah Fraser Mitchell ad her heirs and assigns forever, from and after the decease of my said beloved wife Jessie Mitchell.

I also give devise and bequeath to my said daughter Willah Fraser Mitchell her heirs and assigns to her and their use and behoof forever from and after the decease of my said beloved wife Jessie Mitchell all my personal property, household furniture, and effects of every kind and nature whatsoever.

Ad lastly I do nominate and appoint my said beloved wife jessie Mitchell and my brother in law William Fraser (Taylor) of Yarmouth, Station Agent, Executors of this my last Will and testament.

In witness whereof I the said William have to this my last Will and Testament Subscribed my name and affixed my Seal this eighteenth day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and ninety six.

The foregoing instrument was Signed Sealed published and declared by the said William Mitchell as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence, and in the presence of each other have hereunto

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of William Mitchell, late of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Doctor of Medicine, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
