Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

Last Will and Testament of John Millar, Baker made at Stellarton in the County of Pictou this Twenty sixth day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Eighty five.

I John Millar being inform in body but of Sound disposing mind and memory do hereby make this my last Will and Testament.

First, I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved son William all the real Estate of which I may die possessed consisting of Dwelling house, Barn and Flour Shed, Bakery and all machinery connected therewith, together with Horse, express waggon and Harness, Sleigh and Pung. To Have all Stock connected with the business. Also all Book debts due to me and all debts due by me to be paid by him.

Second, I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth, one half the household Furniture during her natural life if William Survives her the allotted portion reverts to him, if not his heirs if any, if not to be divided among the surviving heirs equally.

Thirdly, I hereby order and devise my son William to keep my said wife Elizabeth during natural life in a comfortable manner, provide for all her reasonable wants in sickness and health.

Fourthly, I give devise and bequeath my son William the remaining half of the Household furniture to be divided in a manner satisfactory to both recipients at an equal valuation.

Fifthly, I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Hannah one Bed and bedding and suitable bedroom furniture the said portion to be given her before the division of the furniture take place.

Sixthly, I hereby appoint Dr. Evan Kennedy and Alex. Grant Merchant, executors of this my last Will and Testament.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John Millar, late of Stellarton in the County of Pictou, Baker, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 24th. day of December A.D. 1885.
