Estate of Hannah Meagher late of Pictou, Spinster, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I Hannah Meagher of Pictou, in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, Spinster, make and publish this my last Will and testament.

First – I give and bequeath to my sister Mary Meagher all my Real and Personal property of every nature ad kind whatsoever and wheresoever Situate, with all Rents, Issues, and profits accruing, or that may hereinafter accrue from the same, during her lifetime. She to preserve and manage the said real and personal property from undue waste and Drought reasonable use and unavoidable casualties excepted.

Secondly – I will and bequeath that at the death of the said Mary Meagher all my real and personal Estate shall be divided and bestowed as follows.

(1) one half of my Real and personal estate to my niece Mary Hannah Doyle and

(2) One fourth to Thomas Meagher Doyle, my nephew

(3) and the remaining one fourth to my nephew Robert Andrew Doyle

for their Sole use and benefit and behoof forever, to come into possession of the same at the death of said Mary Meagher, subject to the following orders and bequests –

To proved and furnish out of the said estate for the payment of all my lawful debts, burial expenses, and the cost of a small monument to be erected over our graves in the family burial plot, in the cemetery near Pictou.

Also the expenses incurred by my executors in carrying out the above orders –

I appoint my Executors or Guardians for my niece and nephews till they obtain their majority, in reference to the above bequeathed estate.

I appoint Mary Meagher my sister Executrix, and Daniel Sutherland Merchant, and James Carson Carpenter, all of Pictou my executors of this may last Will and Testaments.

All former wills by me made are hereby revoked and made void.

In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this sixteenth day of February A.D. 1883.

Signed Sealed published and declared as her last Will by the said Hannah Meagher in the presence of us, who in her presence, and in the presence of each other and at hier request have hereto Subscribed our names as witnesses.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page & a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Hannah Meagher, late of Pictou in the County of Pictou, Spinster, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
