Estate of Nancy Maxwell late of Mount Thom, Widow, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
In the name of God, Amen.
The fourth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Eighty four.
I Nancy Maxwell of Mount Thom in the County of Pictou Widow of the late Duncan Maxwell of the same place deceased, being at present of sound mind & memory & reflecting upon my mortality do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament.
1. I will and bequeath to my son Robert Maxwell ¼ of an acre of land adjoining the ¼ he now owns Situate lying on the west side of the road leading from Middle River to New Glasgow & bounded on the one side by land of my Sister Catherine Fraser, and also one feather Bed, 3 blankets, 2 Pillows, bedstick and quilt.
2. I grant and bequeath t my daughter Bella Jane Webster, one acre of land to connect with that of my son Robert’s on one side & on the other by lands of my Sister Margaret Fraser.
3. To Mr. T. Arthur near New Glasgow I will & bequeath one half acre of land near is own dwelling & lying between the roads leading from Middle River & Stellarton to New Glasgow.
4. To my son William Maxwell I will and bequeath the remainder all and singular of the last mentioned lot of land, include in the boundaries described in Section immediately preceding.
5. I will & bequeath to my daughter Margaret Catherine Fulton the rent due me from year to year for the Railway privilege & right of way through my lands.
6. I devise and order that all & singular the remaining part of the lands owned by me at death, & assigned me of my late father’s estate, not herein previously disposed of by this my last Will & testament, shall by my executors as soon after my demise as practicable, be disposed of by Sale & the proceeds, over & above costs be given in equal parts to the different members of my family without any exceptions or exclusions & in the cases of the decease of any of them the portion due them to be given to their families.
Lastly I hereby appoint as my true and lawful executors for the duly fulfilling and carrying into effect the disposition of this my last Will & Testament my son William Maxwell of Mount Thom & Thomas Arthur of New Glasgow both of the County of Pictou, & Province of Nova Scotia, giving & granting unto them as such power and authority as executors may by Law possess & exercise.
In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand & Seal and Subscribed Set at Mount Thom aforesaid the day and year first above written.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Nancy Maxwell, late of Mount Thom in the County of Pictou, Widow, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 26th. day of January A.D. 1891.
