Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou
I William Matheson of Durham Pictou Co. Nova Scotia do publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills and testamentary documents whatsoever made by me, this is my last will as follows,
I give and bequeath to my wife Jane Matheson the sum of twenty dollars.
I give & bequeath to my daughter Mary forty dollars.
I give and bequeath to my son Henry’s wife twenty dollars.
I give and bequeath to my son Henry Matheson twenty dollars.
I do give and bequeath to the British American Book & Trust Society ten dollars.
I give & bequeath to the Home and Foreign Mission the sum of ten dollars each.
I do give and bequeath equally to my son henry Matheson and my son Howard Matheson all my property or real estate known as the Graham property situated in Durham the property I now live on I give to my two sons equally land trees Dwelling house buildings and all belongings to said property to them and their heirs forever. And that neither my son Henry Matheson or my son Howard Matheson shall have power to sell transfer or dispose of his share or any part of said property or contract debts that said property will be liable for without one having the consent of the other, all sales, transfers or an disposal of said property is to be made by the mutual agreement of both while living.
If my son henry does before his wife Mary C. Matheson I give her the same share in property & home & to act as trustees and executor to my will as I do my son Henry.
I do also give and bequeath to my son Howard Matheson all my money to be given him as follows, that al the money is to be left in a reliable Bank. I give my son Howard Matheson power to draw interest of said money quarterly or as near quarterly as convenient – until he is fifty years old, then said Howard Matheson has the power to draw interest and fifteen dollars of foresaid quarterly amounting to interest – eighty dollars of principal yearly. If my son Howard Matheson wishes at any time after my death to transfer or draw out of said money from Bank he has full and absolute power to do so by the written approval or personal consent of my son Henry Matheson. My son Howard Matheson has the power if any money is left to make a will to dispose of it according to his wishes after death.
It is also my wish that my funeral and headstone expenses be paid out of my estate.
I do hereby nominate and appoint Henry Matheson my son and Howard Matheson my son and William McDonald Durham the executors of this my last Will and Testament,
In witness whereof I have hereby set my hand and Seal this third day of February in the year of our Lord 1899.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of William Matheson late of Durham in the County of Pictou Gentleman deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 11th. day of July 1900.
Witness my hand at Pictou this 12th. day of July 1900.
