Estate of William McRae late of Sutherland's River, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

In the name of God, Amen.  I William McRae being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and declare this my last Will and testament, as follows,

First,  I direct that all my just debts including my funeral expenses and the expenses of administrations be paid by my executors.

Second, I grant and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Janet one half of the farm on which I reside own and occupy namely the part on the west side together with all the stock of horses, cattle, sheep and farming utensils for her use and benefit, and she has power should she deem it necessary to sell the remaining half before my two sons hereinafter mentioned shall come to be twenty one years of age, the money or proceeds to be used, to their benefit.

Third, I grant and bequeath to James Lawrence my eldest son one fourth part of the above mentioned farm.

Fourth. I grant and bequeath  to my second son Duncan Howard the remaining one fourth part of the said farm.

Fifth. I grant and bequeath to Mary Bell my youngest sister the sum of twenty five dollars.

And lastly, I appoint Duncan Ross, tanner, and Alexander Campbell (both of Sutherland's River) the Executors of this my last Will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand Seal this twenty first day of February A.D. 1894.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of William McRae, late of Sutherland's River the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 28th day of February A.D. 1895.
